  I recently tried to rebuild my relationship status as a patient with Dr. Gorrell and I went to my first appointment and had no problems...then the following month, I arrived 30 minutes early for my 2nd appointment and nobody was at the office! The open sign was on, the lights were on, but the door was locked and nobody answered when I knocked! So I called the number on the door and of course I end up getting the answering machine... So here I was, on pain medication, which causes addiction, and I can't find my Dr. Not to mention I didn't have a car at the time and lived in New Port Richey, a little over 30 minutes away...so I had to pay my friend to drive there which was $20... I go home that day and call and call and call, and leave messages every time...and I don't hear back from Dr. Gorrell...so I go back to the office the next day, this time, early in the morning, when they first open....I sit and wait...no staff shows up, no Dr Gorrell, heck there was not even any patients showing up...and I waiting with my ride there for about 2 hours, calling and leaving a message every so often....and I get nothing....and of course my driver got another $20... So the next day I am out of my medication, and guess what...at this point I started calling rehab centers and I found a nice one right here in Hernando county and I am now opiate medication free. Which is for the better anyway. What I learned from this experience is that Dr. Gorrell is the most selfish man I have every met and has no respect for the Oath he has taken as a requirement of his profession. I have a friend that goes there because I referred him, and my friend tells me that during his and Dr. Gorrells appointments, my name gets brought up sometimes...and the things that are said, I will not repeat here...are totally the opposite of what is going on...but the bigger thing here is that just because I referred my friend to your office, it doesn't give you the right to talk about me during your time with your new patient..you should be focusing on the person in front of you. The sad part is that now my friend is very low on his medications, and Dr. Gorrell, being the selfish man that he is, has provided his patients no referrals of anywhere to go...He simply puts on his website to contact your insurance company for a referral to another Dr....this is funny because I would bet my life on it that more than half of his patients pay purely cash...so what insurance do they call for an appointment? It's great that you are going to Guam, but let me give you some advice...go there and stay there. It is a total smack in the face that you are leaving your patients in this position just so YOU can go to Guam...and then when you get back you are going to Kansas? Why Kansas? Oh, because you have run through this county like a plague and you need to go start over somewhere else and get a new fresh reputation... Dr. Gorrell, you and I have talked for hours and hours about things and I never have thought you would do this to your patients. You could have easily put the effort into trying to find a Dr. to take over your practice (if that is even possible)...but you don't care about anything man. It was always about the money for you, I know it... Do everyone a favor and totally remove your website, you don't have anything useful on there for anyone anyway...and I want you to know I am upset for my friend that I sent to you...and I know there are a lot more of your patients in his same position, I hope that there is not....but I got a feeling that there is...and you're just disappearing over to Guam...for what reason I have no idea...if it has something to do with your medical license I wouldn't be surprised. I never told you this, but every time I had an appointment with you, I would go in there, heart racing, nervous at the thought that you were going to belittle me for taking opiates, just like you always did. You would look at my MRI and say, "You're not supposed to feel this much pain from this" well guess what.I did feel that pain, and that pain was genuine.
